Dangerous goods:
All ferry companies are equipped with the necessary certificates in order to transport dangerous
goods, according to IMDG regulation. In order to make a reservation for a truck that transports
dangerous goods, it is imperative to send a fax to the ferry company cargo reservations
in your country providing, the following information:
UNITED NATIONS NUMBER OF CARGO (UNITED NATIONS NUMBER OF SUBSTANCE)
In order for all necessary procedures to be completed on time with the relevant authorities,
it is necessary that the Dangerous Goods Declaration Form of the cargo is sent via fax to the
ferry company office at the port of departure, one day prior to the ship's departure.
For the transportation of dangerous goods, a supplement in accordance with the official
company Cargo tariff is applicable.
Irregular cargo:
The Cargo Department at the headquarters of the ferry company must be timely informed
of the transportation of irregular cargo.
A cargo is considered irregular when:
a) the height of the truck exceeds 4 meters.
b) the width of the truck exceeds 2.6 meters.
c) the maximum weight per wheel axle exceeds 12 tons .
d) the total weight of the truck and its cargo exceeds 40 tons.
Building and agricultural machinery can only be transported on trailers.
The fare will specifically be agreed upon, following the determination of the freight,
which will have been sent by fax to the Cargo Department of the ferry company.
Ferry companies reserve the right to refuse transportation of Dangerous Goods or Irregular
Cargo if the freighter does not comply with all necessary prerequisites for the transport of the truck
and that the truck must be hazardous to the public health or dangerous for the safety and balance
of the ship. |
